I recently purchased my first home! Ya! I am a home owner. When I was looking for a house, I wanted one that had an unfinished basement. I not only enjoy magic as a hobby but also carpentry and general house repair. Well, I found the perfect house. It has a daylight basement that is unfinished. It at one point was finished but was in the middle of a remodel. Once I took ownership, the first thing I did was strip the basement down. I had all the sheet-rock and insulation removed and even tore out several walls, opening the rooms up to be completely redone.
Now that I have the perfect basement to do whatever I want, I have been thinking, What do I want to do with it? I have planned out exactly the layout of the floor plan. So now it’s up to what I place in the room. This large room, which has a sort of rec room style, is going to be the Magic Lounge. This is where I will be hosting monthly magic jam sessions for local magicians. I have a few ideas of what I want to put in there, but I thought it better to ask magicians. If you could have your own magic room, what would you put in it? Now, I will have plenty of props, posters and other decor, but my question is more about furniture.
So far, I have decided that I need a bar. I don’t drink but, damn, it would be nice for the magicians who come over to have a bar to practice on. I thought about a blackjack table. I would need a nice jab table, preferably round. Of course I would build everything myself, since I enjoy carpentry just as much as magic. But what else to a put in? Maybe a small stage? A secret door? What would you guys do if you could build your very own magic room? Please tell me in the comment sections below. I will be keeping everyone up to date with the process of building my magic room. Maybe you will see your idea come to life.
